Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas are deciduous shrubs that provide elegant flowers to any Southern garden during the summer months. There are numerous varieties and types of hydrangeas with ranges of colors. Though there are too many varieties to mention, you can generally look at hydrangeas in three groups, Hydrangea macrophylla, Hydrangea quercifolia, and Hydrangea paniculata. Hydrangea macrophylla include ones commonly called bigleaf, mop head, lacecap, and French hydrangeas. The big-leafs

Whole Foods: What Do We Really Mean?
By Dr. Billy Tart, Jr. You may have heard a lot recently about avoiding “processed foods.” But not all processing is the same, and understanding the difference can help you make healthier choices without unnecessary confusion. A whole food is a food that is as close to its natural state as possible. Examples include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains like brown rice or oats, beans, nuts, eggs, and fresh meats. These foods contain little to no added ingredients. Process

Stop Moving on Autopilot!
By Cindi Pate So many people are living on repeat—same habits, same thoughts, same patterns—and wondering why nothing changes. But, your life doesn’t shift by accident. It shifts by intention. One decision. One moment of awareness. One choice to do something different than you did yesterday. That’s where everything begins. You don’t have to overhaul your entire life overnight. Opening Doors: Heavy Doors Require Help
By Matthew Whittle doors on my mind lately, I was struck recently by how hard it is to open some doors. You know the doors, I’m talking about. Maybe it’s a little off kilter, but it takes a special touch to open it. And of course, that got me thinking that sometimes life is like that, too.

Hearing God in the Harmony
By Ryan Lane I recently had the opportunity to attend a community sing with six other churches in Fremont, NC, and I was struck by how beautiful the music was. Each church had the opportunity to sing for everyone, so one choir would finish, and another would step in. Different voices, different styles, yet all blending together in powerful worship. As I look back, it makes me think about how God reveals Himself to us—not always in one single way, but through a harmony of expe

Connections
Recently, I’ve noticed social media posts about walking barefoot outdoors, a practice called “earthing.” The idea is that direct contact with the ground allows the earth’s natural energy to reduce stress and improve physical and emotional health. While the concept is interesting, I admit I’ve been hesitant—mainly because I don’t watch my dog “go”. I’ve even seen ads for special socks designed to deliver the same benefits while protecting your feet...intriguing. Thinking about
