This Thanksgiving Day Remember That Life is a Gift, Each Moment a Treasure

Grateful, thankful, blessed, fortunate, lucky, privileged; these are all adjectives that I will never again use lightly. If I have learned anything from 2020 thus far, it is that life is a gift, each moment a treasure. I have found that there is nothing more important to me than these simple pleasures, every day is Thanksgiving!

I am grateful to open my eyes each morning. I am thankful to share my days with the love of my life. I am blessed to have family I can stay close to, even if that means by phone or FaceTime visits. I am fortunate to live in a beautiful State where just taking a drive around the county is stunning. I am lucky to be born a citizen of the greatest country in the world. I am privileged to have the right to freely practice my religion.

Although celebrations are small, social distanced and masked, celebrate none the less. Set the table, cook the meal, gather the family, take it outside if need be and CELEBRATE because; you woke up, you have a person, you have a family, you can behold beauty, you live free and you can give all the glory to God!

We all generally give thanks for what’s considered the big things in life but we need to remember to be thankful for the small things too-and not just on Thanksgiving. For it is in recognizing each blessing for what it is that we can truly appreciate our purpose. Be thankful every single day for all the moments that weave the fabric of life.
