Child of the Promise

Child of the Promise is a beautiful and unique Broadway-style musical that chronicles God’s promise of a Messiah beginning with the Old Testament prophets. Child of the Promise (COTP) is a community musical, now in its 17th year! Using contemporary music, Michael and Stormie Omartian (renowned author of numerous books on the power of prayer) have written scripture-based songs. The opening number is a powerful, dynamic portrayal of Isaiah, Micah, and Jeremiah who sing the words spoken 600 years earlier when God promises salvation to His people. The music was written from the different perspectives of major characters in the story, like Gabriel, Mary and Joseph, and the shepherds and wisemen.

The 60 cast/crew enhanced by an 11-piece orchestra bring life to the music and lyrics of COTP. This musical demonstrates the birth of Christ that was foretold centuries before the event. In this busy season, the COTP ministry in Wayne County strives to make people sensitive to the real Christmas message  - the Incarnation of God Himself through that birth!
