Combatting Panic Attacks
My smile followed a day of chaos, bad news about a client, lack of sleep the week before, concerns for a situation beyond my control, my mind stuck in a holding pattern, re-reading old texts and emails, rehashing the past conversations, reliving a past event, and still seeking answers instead of moving on. I’m a fixer!
The plane ride to my speaking engagement hit turbulence, which led to severe nausea, and sickness which triggered a full-blown panic attack on the plane. If you’ve never had a panic attack, count yourself blessed. THEY ARE REAL.
A few valuable lessons that I learned:
- There comes a time when you must let things go, give it to God, and then LEAVE IT with God. Trust that God is for you, protecting you and working everything for your good. Forgiveness is not optional. Just getting real, until you have forgiven or released someone who has hurt or offended you, you will be unable to do what God really wants you to do.
-When you are going through hell in your mind, you don’t need worriers you need WARRIORS. We were never meant to do life alone. Don’t be embarrassed or ashamed to reach out for help. We all need each other. It’s time we stop competing against each other, gossiping about each other, comparing ourselves to each other, and instead encourage, empower, and build each other up. Find your team!
- You can’t control a thought from entering your mind, but you can control how long you dwell on the thought! Some of Satan’s greatest weapons are psychological. I don’t care how spiritual, anointed, or gifted you are; attacks will still come.
Finally, speaking the name of Jesus works! There is POWER in that name. I don’t know who needed this reminder, but there are times when we just need to let go and stop trying to control the outcome so God can do what only he can do.
Love y’all! Beverly
