CSS of Wayne Needs Reading Buddies

We are so excited to be back at school and working with our students again. We have grown to a staff of fourteen and are providing a variety of services to our students. People frequently ask about the services that CSS of Wayne offers, and we always explain that we provide “wrap around” and “support services” to keep our students in school. The mission of Communities Supporting Schools is to provide opportunities for students to stay in school, graduate, and be successful in life. In our three elementary schools, we provide additional support for reading through our “reading buddies” program. In our middle schools, we provide a range of services from individual case-management to small groups and classroom tutoring. At the high school level, CSS provides both individual assistance and small group opportunities as we explore the world of college and careers.

We currently have opportunities for “reading buddies” in our elementary reading programs. This is a great opportunity to work with students about thirty minutes weekly at either Brogden Primary, Carver Heights, or Carver Elementary. The attached flyer has the contact information for the success coaches who coordinate the programs in each of these schools. You may also contact me to find out more about this program by emailing at sbennett@waynecss.org.
