Field of Honor Returns to WCC for Fifth Year
GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Wayne Community College will host the Goldsboro Rotary Club’s fifth annual Field of Honor®.
The Rotarians bring the Field of Honor® flag display to the heart of eastern North Carolina to honor those who, by their lives, honor the flag.
Hundreds of United States flags will fly on the College’s front lawn from Sept. 12 to Nov. 14. The public can visit the exhibition from dawn to dusk daily during this period. An opening ceremony will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, and the closing ceremony is set for Thursday, Nov. 14, both at 1 p.m. at the site. They will also be streamed live on the club’s and the College’s Facebook pages.Five levels of event sponsorships, ranging from $5,000 to $250, are also available.The flags will be set up in a grid pattern with a tag on each flag marking its location. The location will be indexed, and the index will be available at the sponsor sign.
The Goldsboro Field of Honor® display is made possible by donations, sponsorships, and the efforts of dedicated volunteers who set up, maintain, and take down the flags.Proceeds from the event will raise funds to support charitable programs of Rotary International and the Goldsboro club.
