Heart Imprints By Sandy Brannan

Sometimes when I walk around my house, I see more than is there. You see, every time someone pays me a visit, they leave behind an impression that, unknown to them, has left an imprint on my heart.

There's nothing quite like having a memory return, allowing for the chance to go back in time and remember.

My friend came to visit me recently. We sat on my couch together while we chatted. After she left, I looked back at where we had just been sitting and saw that the cushions were a bit sunken. I knew it wouldn't be long before they fluffed back up, before the physical impression of our visit had disappeared.

I smiled as I thought about how I didn't need wrinkled couch cushions to remind me of our visit. She had left behind an imprint on my heart, and I knew I would often walk by my couch and smile as I remembered the time we had spent together.

I wonder how often we’re unaware of the impressions we’re leaving behind. I wonder how often we forget that we leave imprints on every heart we encounter.

May the heart imprints I share with others cause smiles to appear on their faces time and time again.

May I never forget the ripples of kindness that come when I follow the example shared for me in Luke 6:31 where I"m told "And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them."
