Our Habitat - New Year, New Hope
As we wrap up what I think can only be described as a tumultuous year, if you’re anything like me, you’re looking forward to 2021.
Of course, we don’t know what the new year will bring. It may bring more of the same – we do know that it will at least start about the same as 2020 is ending with discord in our communities and a pandemic still running rampant – but there are lights at the end of the tunnel with vaccines already in hand and no presidential election on the immediate horizon.
But we don’t know what the year as a whole will bring. And so as we begin 2021, I think it’s safe to say that we’re beginning it with hope – hope that it will bring a better tomorrow. And whether that hope is because of the COVID vaccine, the incoming president or a strengthened economy, the simplest and best reason for hope is the season that we are just now ending – the season of Christmas.
If you follow Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne’s Facebook page you may have seen us doing a weekly Advent devotion, many of which centered around hope – specifically our hope in our Savior Christ Jesus.
Of course you’ll note that Habitat also has hope in our mission statement, which says that we exist to share God’s love to build homes, community and hope.
So my challenge to you is this New Year is to have hope and then to come help us build hope for others.
