Story Time Online Summer of 2022-In Memory of Charlie C. Ivey III
Charles C. Ivey III was a life-long educator and advocate for learning for all ages in Wayne County. Born and raised in Summerlin Crossroads, Charlie dedicated his life to serving the people in our community.
In January 2019 he joined the Board of Directors of Literacy Connections continuing his life-long mission of literacy for all ages. He kicked off the Story Time Online program by recording the first few stories to air on social media all across Wayne County. He modeled the importance of reading with our children at home by recording stories with the program each year reaching thousands of families who tuned in to hear him.
Four years later we are still going strong with over 225 stories available for viewing on our YouTube channel, Literacy Connections of Wayne County playlists.
Special thanks to First Christian Church of Goldsboro for their partnership for a second year of bringing the joy of reading stories to families across Wayne County. First Christian Church is located at 1609 E Ash Street in Goldsboro where all are welcome for worship Sundays at 10:30am.
We dedicate Story Time Online 2022 in memory of Charles C. Ivey III. We will be forever grateful for the contributions he made to improve literacy for all ages in our community.
Tune in at 7:00 p.m. in July on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Let this be our gift to him as we “Go forth and do good things.”
