Thank You Wayne Community College

"In 2016, I graduated with my high school degree from Wayne Early Middle College High School, as well as my Associate in Arts from Wayne Community College. Thanks to the incredible partnership between the two institutions, my high school experience served as the catapult for my future career. Every one of us has had that one teacher who became a defining factor in our lives. The teacher who saw something in us that we didn't even know existed or the teacher who helped to steer us in the right direction for our future careers. Thanks to Wayne Community College, I had a multitude of teachers who acted as the compass in my life, and steered me on my journey towards academic success.

I am now the Children's Department Head at the Wayne County Public Library and recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with my Master's in Library Sciences. Attending WEMCHS/WCC has impacted my life in so many positive ways. For example, within my career, I am able to utilize the passions and skills that were fostered through the leadership opportunities and experiences I had during my time at WCC. I have taken a page from the book of my teachers, as they set the standards for what it means to be passionate, engaging, and how to give back to the community in meaningful ways—attributes I want to apply in my life and my career."
