Now, UNC Health Wayne is honored by the opportunity to support a new and impactful endeavor: Seymour Home Away From Home. This nonprofit foundation is specifically tailored to enrich the lives of new Airmen who find themselves away from home for the first time.

At the heart of the Seymour Home Away From Home is the aim to provide invaluable support to Airmen stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base by integrating them into our community. Through strategic pairings with host families, these new Airmen discover a home away from home- a place where they can seek comfort and relieve themselves from the demands of military life. This initiative is especially important considering the challenges Airmen often face, such as the inability to return home for holidays and special occasions. By connecting them with caring families in Wayne County, the program seeks to bridge this gap and offer a sense of belonging during the Airmen’s notable life events and their everyday experiences.
